Physicians:

Carla graduated as Valedictorian from Milford Mill High School in Baltimore , Maryland . She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland , Baltimore County campus. She graduated third in her class from the Physician Assistant Program at Essex College in Baltimore . After obtaining her board certification, she obtained a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program in Omaha , Nebraska . Prior to joining Wilmington Surgical Associates in November 1999, she practiced for three years at Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore , Maryland in the Surgery Department.

Carla is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. She served as president of the Coastal Cape Fear Regional Chapter of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants in 2004 and 2005. She is also a member of the New Hanover-Pender County Medical Society.

Carla and her husband reside in Wilmington .
