 Dr. Bebb is a surgical oncologist with specialty training in the management of complex breast, skin, stomach, colorectal, liver, thyroid, lung, soft tissue, and head and neck cancers. He has been distinguished by the American Cancer Society and the Society of Surgical Oncology for his work on cancer patients. He received his specialty surgical oncology training at the City of Hope National Cancer Center in Los Angeles, California. He has been involved in extensive clinical and basic science research and has several publications in national medical journals. Since establishing his practice in Wilmington, he has instituted new surgical and systemic treatments for melanoma which have become the leading national standard of care. He is a member of the National Cancer and Acute Leukemia Group (CALGB) which oversees many of the major national protocols for cancer patients. He has served on the hospital's Oncology Advisory Board and been a task force member for the annual Coastal Oncology Symposium here in Wilmington. Dr. Bebb is, also, the secretary for the New Hanover/Pender County Medical Society.
Dr. Bebb is board certified in general surgery and received his training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and the University of Arizona in Tucson. He received awards for Surgical Educator of the Year at both institutions. He practices a broad range of general surgery including the treatment of hernia, gallstones, diverticulitis, and vascular disease. He is a candidate member of the American College of Surgeons and is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery for the UNC School of Medicine. He attended Jefferson Medical College and graduated in the top of his class and received the Samuel D. Gross Professor of Surgery Award as the most outstanding student in Surgery.
He is actively involved in his church, Myrtle Grove Presbyterian, where he teaches an adult Sunday School class.
